When I use the basic topic coffee_mac/ the system works, but when I change it I get no response. I used Node Red with an MQTT broker running on raspberry Pi.

Did you do a reset of the emulation after changing the topic parameter in the component? I did a test with a local script now, and after updating the value in both the script and component and then resetting the emulation it’s communicating under the new topic prefix.
I did a reset, but apparantly, I forgot the forward slash at the end of the topic_prefix. Rookie mistake.
