I’m completely new to simumatik, I have written a working code in tia portal, and I can connect to Simumatik. But Simumatik is not sending any information back to TIA portal. So my code only works if i spoof the states of inputs with PLCSIM.
My code works as intended, in Simumatik, but since the connection is half broken TIA portal it cannot “see” any of the connections being made, (like from a sensor) and thus does not work automatically.
I hope I explained myself well enough, I don’t know if this has to do with the buggy TIA portal v20, or with Simumatik. I could not for the life of me find anyone else having this issue. Thank you in advance.
I tried to include everything I could in the Image but as you can see I am connected to Simumatik, but Tia portal and PLCSIM are not receiving the TRUE state from input 0.1. Hope this makes it a bit more clear.

One thing that might cause this behavior, not receiving inputs from Simumatik while the outputs are working properly, is if the “Process image” for the addresses are set to “Automatic update” instead of “None”.
This video explains where to find this setting (shown at the 3 minute mark), along with other settings in TIA portal which are necessary to get PLCSIM working with Simumatik. Siemens S7-1200 via PLCSIM

Oh wow thank you so much, I spent six hours yesterday and 3 hours today trying to find a fix and it was so simple. I was running through so many menus and settings trying to figure this out.
